A Shower of Love

That's the name of the pattern for the baby blanket, from Leisure Arts Our Best Knit Baby Afghans. As promised yesterday, here is a picture of the finished blanket (click the picture for a larger view):

Here's the detail of the knots (a little fuzzy, sorry 'bout that):

A friend asked me today if I'll be taking a break from the 5:30 a.m. knitting sessions. I wish, but I've been getting up at 5:30 for so long now, it's become habit! The hope is to take some of the knitting time and turn it into exercise, meditation, or yoga time. We'll see...my intentions are good, but then I get lazy.

Happy knitting!

Oh. My. God. That is one stunning blankie! My hands are cramping at the very thought of knitting it. Nice work. I think that 5:30 is a great time for spinning...that's kind of my meditation.

Gorgeous!

5:30am? Good only for sleeping, in my book . . . but I am in awe of people like you who can get up that early and not run into walls and such.

The blanket is truly beautiful, and what an accomplishment! I still haven't embroidered the eyes and such on my DS's baby blanket and he's about to turn 5!

OMG it's fabulous!!! Way to go - the five gazillion french knots look great! What a trooper you are!! I'd have given up after the first zillion. You ROCK!

That blanket is one of the most fabulous knitted (and non-knitted) things that I have seen lately. It is beautiful, and you are a goddess!

As for the 5:30 am thing - I vote yoga. (Not that you were asking for our input, eh?) But then again, I'm with Chris and am still in bed at that hour.

I've been trying with little success to knit this blanket. My Row 12 does not end up getting me an increase to 195 sts. Did you have a problem with Row 12 or do you have an idea of what I might be tripping over?

Tensleep, I finished that blanket almost three years ago and really can't remember if I had problems with row 12. However, I took a quick glance at the instructions and most likely, I have problems with row 12 (and all the subsequent rows).

To figure out where you are tripping up, work through the instructions stitch by stitch (after you realize you didn't get the 195 stitches). It's tedious, but most likely you'll discover that you missed a YO or two, or forgot to decrease, or increase when the increase is not a YO. Feel free to email me at TLHSimondsATverizonDOTnet if you would like more help.
